This is a list of proposed scenarios for both Olympiad and street elite competition.

Minor adjustments, theme additives may be chosen by hosting club or judges.

Each scenario should be recognizable to both competitors and decoys, however.

Street elite trials should, as often as possible, utilize those scenarios that focus on handler protection.

Any of these scenarios may be turned into a call off, if desired by judges, or hosting clubs.

A “menu” of basic requirements of each scenario precede the description of the scenario.

1. “Help, I’ve been shot!”

Equipment:

  • Two decoys in full suits

  • At least one, possibly two handguns, with blanks

  • Two or three hides

Scenario:

  • You and your dog are walking outdoors.

  • Suddenly, a decoy, dressed in a full body suit, appears, yells, and shoots a hand gun.

  • You are to behave as if you have been shot, dropping to the ground, or going for cover.

  • The dog should attack the decoy immediately.

  • A person, perhaps a policeman, comes to your aid, standing nearby, wearing a bite suit.

  • You must recall your dog from the decoy, who will be giving up.

  • You must stay in your place of concealment, in a prone position.

  • The dog must return to you quickly, and remain under control, not biting the person standing nearby.

  • You will then get control of your dog, putting his leash on.

  • You will then instruct the bystander in how to take control of your dog, by taking the leash, or by some other way.

  • You are injured, and may not assist in the removal of your dog in a physical way.

  • The exercise is finished when the policeman can take the leash, and walk a short distance.

2.  Bridgett’s Bad dream.

Equipment:

  • Two decoys

  • Two sleeves

  • Two tugs or rags

  • Two plastic ball bats

Scenario:

  • Handler has dog on sturdy 6 foot lead, attached to sturdy flat collar.

  • Two decoys come into view, wearing only civilian clothes, or possibly scratch pants, and wearing one arm sleeve, with rag or tug in pants pocket or similar, and also carrying plastic bat.

  • On signal from judge, handler turns dog on, and starts to back up.

  • Decoys are loud, and challenging.

  • One decoy comes close enough to bite, and when dog does, slips the sleeve he is wearing.

  • Quickly, the next decoy approaches, dog bites, and sleeve is slipped.

  • Handler is still backing up.

  • First decoy then agitates with rag/tug, and allows dog to tear it from him, and second decoy does the same.

  • After all bite equipment has been utilized, two decoys continue to threaten handler until handler and dog have passed the rear line, or time line.

  • Your slowness to remove yourself and your dog from the lawn has angered the bad guy/homeowner, and he attacks you, through the sprinklers.

  • When you send your dog to attack the downfield decoy, the police ID decoy steps out of his/her vehicle, identifies him/herself as a police officer, and states that he/she will apprehend the bad guy themselves.

  • Handler must immediately out their dog if the dog has already bitten, and get the dog past the Police ID decoy.

  • If the Police ID decoy is identified before the dog bites the challenging decoy, the dog must not continue downfield.

  • A lurking decoy, taking advantage of your distraction, quietly steps out from behind a barrier, points a gun at you, and says softly, “I will kill you if you don’t give me your wallet”.

  • You are to ignore all of the passersby.  It is impossible to tell which one is about to steal your bag.
